  1. Take 1 pastry shell for tart 21cm round, homemade or ready made
  2. Prepare 5 Bananas
  3. Get 3 tbsp caramel sauce
  4. Make ready 2 tsp Dark Brown Sugar
  5. Take 100 grams Short Bread fingers or any shortbread buscuits
  6. Prepare Topping:
  7. Get 1/4 pints fresh milk
  8. Prepare 1 tbsp custard powder
  9. Take 1 tsp sugar

It's absolutely one of my favorite desserts ever! The name comes from combining the words banana and toffee together. What makes this pie so good? Banoffee pie is a traditional English dessert made from bananas, cream, toffee (or dulce de leche), a biscuit base, and sometimes coffee and/or chocolate.

Instructions to make My Banoffee Pie 😊:
  1. Make your base and put in a ovenproof greased dish 21cm diameter .
  2. Add the pastry to a preheated oven. 175Β°C or Gas 7
  3. Add the bananas to a bowl, squash them down with a fork until they are all mashed.
  4. Add the caramel and mix in the bananas
  5. Add the sugar and mix in
  6. Put the biscuits in a bag and crush them then add them to the banana & caramel. Mix in
  7. When mixed put it in the fridge for half an hour.
  8. When the pastry is cooked, leave it to cool down
  9. Bring out the banana, caramel mix and pour into the cooled pastry.
  10. Topping:
  11. Bring the milk to the boil on low heat
  12. Mix a little milk with the custard powder and sugar and stir well.
  13. Take a little of the boiled milk and add it to the milk and custard mix. Stir in quickly then add the custard mixture back into the pan of boiled milk. Leave on heat while you stir. When you feel it thicken, take off and stir until its all thick.
  14. Bring out the banana mix and spread the custard thinly over the top and inside the pie crust.
  15. Put it back in the fridge until your ready to serve.
