Thank you for a lovely recipe not using ketchup! I used dijon mustard and added cayenne pepper for a kick. Didn't use any liquid smoke because I don't have any. A tangy BBQ sauce that can be used for just about anything from sandwiches to french fries.

Steps to make No Ketchup BBQ Sauce:
  1. In sauce pot add tomato soup water and garlic crushed red pepper heat up over medium heat
  2. Add vinegar and brown sugar stir till sugar is dissolved
  3. Add liquid smoke, black pepper and Worcestershire sauce
  4. Heat until thick
  5. Note you can use beef base if you don't have liquid smoke

Didn't use any liquid smoke because I don't have any. A tangy BBQ sauce that can be used for just about anything from sandwiches to french fries. I added no sugar the ketchup was sweet enough and I cannot stand sweet bbq sauce plus I can't have all that sugar anyway. Not Ketchup sauces are fruit ketchups, made from cherries, blueberries, dates, and figs - but not a single tomato.
