  1. Make ready 500 g lean beef
  2. Make ready 2 Teaspoons Salt
  3. Make ready 2 Teaspoons Pepper
  4. Get 4 Cloves Garlic
  5. Take 1 Teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  6. Take 1/4 Cup Water
  7. Make ready 5 Mushrooms
  8. Make ready 4 Tomatoes
  9. Prepare 1 Carrot
  10. Prepare 1 sachet Colman's Beef Bourguignon
  11. Make ready 425 ml Water
  12. Take 1 Tablespoon Mushroom Soy sauce
  13. Take 1/2 Tablespoon Oil

Serve it over mashed potatoes or pasta for a complete meal for the whole family! Beef Bourguignon in the Instant Pot has never been quicker or tastier! All done in just over an hour, the beef is seared and the vegetables are sauteed in rendered bacon fat, then pressure cooked in a red wine and beef stock until the beef is melt-in-your-mouth tender. Remove beef and bacon from cooker.

Steps to make Instant Pot Beef Bourguignon:
  1. In your instant pot, add your oil. Cut up your beef into small chunks and sauté in the oil. Grind together the salt, pepper and garlic then add to the beef. Add worcestershire sauce.
  2. Sauté until fond starts forming and the beef has some colour. Add 1/4 Cup water, scrape off the fond and cover the lid. Close the pressure seal and cook for 1 hour. Slow release the pressure after it's finished.
  3. Cut the carrots, tomatoes and mushrooms to sizes of your preference. Add the sachet of beef Bourguignon to 425ml water and mix in.
  4. Open the instant pot and scoop out all of the water that the beef has cooked in (save in a container for future use as beef stock!)
  5. Add all of the vegetables and water with sachet into the instant pot. Mix together and then close the lid. Cook with pressure seal closed for 30 minutes.
  6. Fast release the pressure (be careful of the steam) and mix in the mushroom soy sauce. Salt and pepper to your tasting and mix in well. After 5 minutes, serve with a side of your choice.
  7. We served ours with white rice. The beef is so tender that it falls apart.

All done in just over an hour, the beef is seared and the vegetables are sauteed in rendered bacon fat, then pressure cooked in a red wine and beef stock until the beef is melt-in-your-mouth tender. Remove beef and bacon from cooker. Repeat procedure with remaining beef mixture. Close and lock the lid of the Instant Pot. Turn the steam release handle to "sealing" position.
