It is a dessert with as many variations as there are Italians and non-Italians making it today. Tiramisù is one of the most popular plated desserts in all of Italy. It knows no geographical boundaries, enjoyed in both the north and the south, among young and old. Impossible to resist, its soft layer of cream covered with bitter cocoa powder surrounds tender, crumbly biscuits soaked in coffee.

Instructions to make Tiramisù:
  1. Start separating the egg yolks from the whites. Start beating the yolks with half of the sugar until glossy and yellow and then add the mascarpone.
  2. Once all mixed start beating the white of the eggs and add the other half of the sugar. Mix everything until the whites are nice and firm.
  3. Mix the whites with the mascarpone base bit by bit being very careful not to take the air out from the whites. Mix the coffee with some water and some sugar. Put a generous spoonful of mascarpone mix on the bottom of the cake container and level it off. Dip the sponge fingers in the coffee and lay them next to each other. Cover them with half of the mascarpone mix and do a second layer of biscuits then cover with the other half of the mix.
  4. Leave in the fridge to set for at least 2 hours and add cocoa powder before serving.

Up until this week, I always thought the best Tiramisu I ever had was in Rome, at this sweet little restaurant right near the Spanish Steps. But after tasting my own version of this classic dessert, I've changed my mind. Well, usually this dessert requires you to separate eggs, make a custard, then fold that into another mixture with whipped cream and mascarpone cheese — and that's just the first step.

So that’s going to wrap it up with this special food tiramisù recipe. Thanks so much for your time. I’m sure you can make this at home. There’s gonna be interesting food in home recipes coming up.
