  1. Make ready 150 gm whole wheat flour
  2. Prepare 200 gm all purpose flour
  3. Prepare 125 gm sugar
  4. Prepare 1/2 cup water
  5. Take 75 gm ghee
  6. Prepare 1 tsp cardamom powder
  7. Make ready Oil, for frying
  8. Get Powdered sugar, as required

Because the coconut is already sweetened, you don't need much additional sugar. Using your fingers, rub the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles pea-size crumbles. Add the milk and form into a dough. Cover with a damp paper towel while you form the remaining dumplings.

Steps to make Sweet fried dumplings:
  1. Take whole wheat flour and all purpose flour in a bowl.
  2. Add ghee and mix it till it has consistency of bread crumbs.
  3. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  4. Dissolve the sugar in water and make a slightly hard dough with this water and cover it and keep for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Heat oil in a wok. Take small balls of dough and roll them into a thick roti, nearly 1/2 -1 cm thick.
  6. Now you can either cut different shapes with cookie cutter or divide the circle in four halves to make triangles.
  7. Make some markings on top with knife so that they don’t puff up when frying.
  8. Deep fry all these, in batches, on medium flame till golden brown on both sides.
  9. Drain on absorbent paper and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  10. You can store them for 10-15 days in an air tight container and use. However they are so tasty, that they won’t last this long.

Add the milk and form into a dough. Cover with a damp paper towel while you form the remaining dumplings. Once oil is hot, place dumplings carefully into pan As each side browns continually turn dumplings until all sides are brown and dumplings are light and fluffy. When fully cooked they will be light brown and crispy outside and sound hollow when tapped. Place on paper towel to drain any excess oil and serve hot.
