Besides, in different regions people make sticky rice dumplings slightly different. Assemble the dumplings: Hold a bamboo leaf horizontally, then stack another on top.

  18. Get 1 tsp Green chilli paste
  19. Take 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves
  20. Take 1/3 tsp Turmeric powder
  21. Prepare 1/2 tsp garam masala
  22. Prepare 1/2 tsp Lemon juice

Roll the dumplings into balls, about the size of golf balls. Traditional food for Dragon Boat Festival. Dragon boat racing isn't a tradition in the North-west of China where I grew up. Bánh giò is a stuffed rice flour dumpling that is usually associated with Northern Vietnam.

  1. Soak rice in water for about 1 hour. Then grind fresh coconut and soaked rice adding just.required water. Then in kadai take oil add mustard seeds cumin seeds,red chilli, urad dal chana dal and add rice paste. Stir, continuously. till it forms a dough.
  2. For filling add all ingredients listed in for filling list and slightly cool it for a few minutes and keep it aside.
  3. Now take ball sized dough and make a cavity in it and stop the feeling place all the dumplings in a steamer and steam it for 15 minutes.
  4. After 15 minutes check with a toothpick.
  5. Now in 15 minutes rice dumplings are ready to eat. Plain dumpling tastes yummy with garlic chutney or coconut chutney.
